Walt had a huge imagination. He was creative and artistic. When Walt was older he had a Walt Disney company. In 1925 Walt married one of his employees Lillian Bounds. They had 2 daughters, Sharon and Diane. Walt didn't pay his workers as much money as he used to because not many people could order Disney movies at the time. Soon enough employees noticed, went on strike, and demanded fair wages. Soon Roy gave workers their pay demands, some workers were still mad. Soon Walt created a mouse and wanted to name him Mortimer, but Lillian said it was too fancy so she suggested Mickey, and then Mickey Mouse was born! The first cartoon about Mickey was about Mickey trying to impress his girlfriend Minnie Mouse.
On July 18th, 1957 age 56 Walt opened the amusement park Disney Land in Anaheim, California. Disney Land is still the most successful amusement park in history. By 1966 6.7 million people visited Disney Land, that's only 9 years! The idea came to Walt after taking his own children to other amusement parks. Walt decided he would open an amusement park where the whole family could have fun. 14 years later Disney World was opened in Orlando, Florida. Since then Disney parks have opened in Japan and France.
